Short Description: Twined corn husk salt bottle. Cylindrical, with small-diameter neck. Corn cob stopper. Charred from 1911 Capitol fire. ("O-NO-NE-A GOS-HA-DA, or corn-husk Salt Bottle.")
Maximum dimensions: 5 x 3.5 in; 12.7 x 8.89 cm
Present condition: Fair; charred but no other significant damage

Morgan's discussion of this type of basket was cursory, although he obviously appreciated the basket-maker's craft: "Several varieties of basket work will be found among the articles. In this useful art the Indian women excel. They are made with a neatness, ingenuity and simplicity, which deserve the highest praise. Among the number are οΎ… [t]wo corn-husk bottles for salt." (Morgan 1850a:89)
