Orthography Used for Seneca Names

The orthography used in the modern transcriptions of Seneca names follows that used by Elisabeth Tooker (1994:xxi), except that "en" and "on" have been substituted for "e" and "o" carrying a hook beneath.

Pronunciations are as follows. Consonants with no indication are pronounced as in English.

´ indicates accented, or high-pitched, vowel á é í ó
: indicates vowel length
